The Medieval Gallery

A private gallery of fine art in a former Medieval inn. It is unique in Britain, specialising in works by established living artists who are inspired by the art of the Middle Ages. These craftspeople create works in the art forms of the period – painting, sculpture, illumination, stained glass, jewellery and monumental brasses. The gallery also has a brass rubbing centre, featuring one of the country’s major collections of monumental brass facsimiles, and is the only shop in Britain with these for sale. Additionally, it houses high quality medieval style textile and furniture reproductions, arms and armour, pottery, a few antiques, some curiosities and eye-catching but modestly priced souvenirs.
